NGSA’s members represent all aspects of the producing community, including exploration, production and marketing.

Member companies currently produce over 5.7 Tcf of natural gas annually. Dues are graduated and based on a company’s annual natural gas production.

Corporate members have representation on NGSA’s Board of Directors, which also sets the policy guidelines for the association. Moreover, companies usually appoint individuals to serve on NGSA’s committees.

Our Governance structure is as follows:

Board of Directors--Made up of senior industry executives from our member companies, the board of directors determines and directs all NGSA policies and operations. It is also responsible for strategic planning and meets at least three times per year.

Issues Committee--A working group of business unit heads, the Issues Committee serves as an agent of the board to address and respond to emerging issues and policy challenges. It also supports the board by helping to implement and manage its objectives. Convenes as needed.

Supply & Demand Advisors--Comprising member company energy market experts, our Supply and Demand experts direct policy on energy and the environment as it relates to production. They also assist the producing industry in assessing the nation's natural gas resources and market conditions, as well as in communicating NGSA's views of the potential impact of existing and proposed legislative and regulatory policies. This group communicates regularly via e-mail and meets as needed.

Regulatory Affairs Advisors--A working group of member company regulatory professionals, this panel recommends policy as it relates to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). It also guides FERC relations and the promotion of producer interests, including downstream efficiencies. Usually communicates at least weekly via e-mail and / or conference calls.

Government Relations Advisors--The Government Relations team, primarily made up of the member companies' Washington representatives, is responsible for federal legislative strategy and oversees NGSA's legislative agenda and activities. Communicates regularly via e-mail and meets as needed.

Public Relations Advisors--Public relations professionals from the member companies are encouraged to participate to help guide NGSA's public affairs strategy and activities. The group also helps to oversee the association's internal and external communications. Communicates regularly via e-mail and meets as needed.
