Claibourne (Clay) L. Harris is President and CEO of GDF SUEZ Gas NA, the business unit of GDF SUEZ Energy North America, Inc., responsible for managing the company’s natural gas activities in North America.   Mr. Harris also serves as Chairman of the Natural Gas Supply Association for 2012 and 2013

 

As President and CEO, Mr. Harris is responsible for developing and managing the GDF SUEZ Gas NA’s shipping assets (LNG vessels), global supply positions and short-term trading, as well as managing SUEZ’s liquefaction interests in Atlantic LNG, Trinidad.  GDF Suez Gas NA’s operations include LNG terminal operations, natural gas sales and marketing in North America and the Mexican gas distribution and pipeline transportation assets of GDF SUEZ. 

 

Mr. Harris joined London-based SUEZ Global LNG in March of 2002 as its Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer and in December of 2002 was promoted to President and CEO of SUEZ Global LNG.  Prior to joining SUEZ, Mr. Harris worked in both downstream and upstream LNG and E&P ventures, mostly in the Indonesian and Asian markets. 

 

Mr. Harris holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Geology from the University of Oklahoma. He also serves as Chairman of the Board of the Center for LNG (CLNG) the trade association representing the LNG industry in the United States.
