About Us

The Natural Gas Supply Association (NGSA) represents integrated and independent companies that supply natural gas. Founded in 1965, NGSA is the only national trade association that solely focuses on producer-marketer issues related to the downstream natural gas industry. NGSA advocates for regulatory certainty and well-functioning markets for natural gas. Through our support for innovative technologies and partnerships with all energy sources, NGSA is dedicated to sustainably meeting our nation’s growing energy demand.

Letter from the Chairman

Welcome to the Natural Gas Supply Association’s (NGSA) website.

Natural gas continues to play an increasingly vital role in our nation’s energy supply, not only does it generate the majority of U.S. electricity but is also serves as the reliable baseload power source during peak demand periods.

In fact, more than 60 million Americans use this affordable and reliable fuel in their homes, and it’s widely used by restaurants, hotels, supermarkets, and other retail businesses. It is both a fuel source and a raw input for the U.S. industrial sector, giving U.S. industry a global competitive advantage due to our nation’s abundant supply. America also exports liquefied natural gas (LNG) to our trading partners abroad, helping our allies lower their energy costs and achieve their energy reliability and emissions goals.

NGSA represents leading integrated and independent companies that supply domestic natural gas. Founded in 1965, NGSA is the only national trade association that solely focuses on producer-marketer issues related to the downstream natural gas industry. NGSA supports an energy future that provides a level playing field for all market participants, eliminates inappropriate regulatory barriers to supply, and promotes adequate infrastructure to deliver affordable natural gas to all consumers. Through our support for innovative technologies and partnerships with all energy sources, NGSA is also dedicated to sustainably meeting our nation’s unprecedented and growing energy demand.

The association’s long-standing relationships with the executive branch, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), Capitol Hill, and with other industry trade groups, enables NGSA to effectively represent its members on natural gas-related regulatory and legislative issues. Moreover, because of our market expertise and strong presence in Washington, D.C., legislators, regulators, and members of the news media view us as industry leaders and an educational resource.

We hope that visiting this site will heighten your awareness of the importance of natural gas in our nation’s energy mix. If you have any further comments, questions, or concerns, our staff in Washington is available to answer your questions.

Sincerely,

Dawn Constantin
